The annual ‘Black Cherry Fair’ has been taking place in the market town of Chertsey for many hundreds of years, and this year, local business Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors had a stall. But unlike most others on the Abbeyfields site, they weren’t selling anything!

District Manager, Richard Leachman, and one of his team of Funeral Arrangers, Tom Hoyles, gave away nearly 300 bottles of water to passers-by on what was another warm summer’s day.

Conversations did follow, many of them surrounding the topic of personal funeral planning.

Lodge Brothers has its own catalogue of bespoke funeral plans – pop into your local branch and ask the question!

Community is important to Lodge Brothers

Lodge Brothers have been serving the community for over 100 years and constantly expanding their vision of the business making it more accessible to everyone.

Lodge Brothers Funeral Directors Cobham have an excellent rapport with the community, they like to get involved and contribute where they can, and they are indeed a special group of people who work for Lodge Brothers. They are kind and compassionate and not scared to get involved where they can, read what they have been up to these past few weeks.

Easter is a time of celebration and a time to remember our loved ones; what better way than to celebrate with young and old. Lodge Brothers windows were brightly decorated and there was an Easter Colouring Competition for the local kids and pictured here are the lucky winners with their lovely chocolate prizes!

Lodge Brothers Surrey Commercial and Operations Manager, Paul Bye, delivered Easter goodie bags to local care homes throughout Surrey this week, with a view of bringing a little Easter cheer to the residents.

The bags contained all sorts of chocolate and cakes and all the naughty but nice things that are enjoyed at Easter.

Paul commented that it was great to see the residents of local homes with smiles on their faces, it doesn’t matter how old you are chocolate is enjoyed by all!

A life remembered

On Friday 24th April the village of Bisley bid a traditional ‘farewell’ to one of its oldest residents, Mr Peter Fuller. Mr Fuller had lived for many years next to St John’s Church, Bisley. He died in Woking Hospice on 4th April aged 90 years. His beloved wife, Mollie, predeceased him in 2011.

Mr Fuller’s Funeral Service took place in St John’s Church, Bisley which was full to capacity with standing room only. A Royal British Legion Standard Bearer was also in attendance. The service was followed by a private cremation.

His coffin was borne from Lodge Brother Funeral Directors in Goldsworth Road, Woking to Bisley Church in a Horse Drawn Hearse following a route planned by Mr Fuller’s son, Richard. Click here Funeral Directors Chertsey for more information

Lodge Brothers will help you to remember your loved one in the most appropriate way

Lodge Brothers funeral directors Ashford and funeral directors Woking as well as the rest of the many Lodge Brothers branches throughout the UK, are passionate about making arrangements easier and less of a burden for memorials and funeral of loved ones. They are also compassionate individuals who strive to make a difference within the community in any way possible.

Every year, Lodge Brothers funeral directors Englefield Green place a ‘Memorial Tree’ in their branch.

Families who have lost a loved one in the past year are invited to write a message on a card to them and hang it on the tree in memory.

At funeral directors Chertsey, Branch Arranger Helen Kempster and District Manager Richard Leachman (pictured) invited the local vicar to host a short service of blessing at the branch.
